Brand Win: Making a Global Mission Feel Personal
Turning complex needs into human stories that help people understand why the work matters.
Brand: Send Relief
Project: Global Brand Storytelling
-
Send Relief is a global Christian compassion ministry serving people facing everything from natural disasters and hunger to displacement and vulnerable family situations. The scale of that work creates a storytelling challenge: when the needs are enormous and happening all over the world, it can be difficult for an audience to see the individual people inside the bigger story.
My job is to help close that distance. The goal isn’t simply to explain what Send Relief does. It’s to tell true, human stories that help people understand the need, see how local churches and ministry partners are responding, and recognize a meaningful way to participate themselves.
-
As Content Manager, I lead brand storytelling across digital, print and paid media, developing audience-facing stories and campaigns around Send Relief’s work across five continents.
I work across teams to take field reports, interviews, program information and firsthand accounts and find the human story at the center. Then I shape that story for the audience and the format, from emails and web content to social media, print pieces, advertising and video scripts.
That means making strategic decisions about what information matters, whose perspective should lead, how much context an audience needs and what the story is ultimately inviting them to understand or do.
Across formats, I work from the same principle: the mission may be global, but the story has to feel human.

Lead brand storytelling across five continents, translating complex humanitarian and ministry work into accessible, audience-centered stories.
Write across digital, print and paid media, helping maintain a consistent brand voice across channels and campaigns.
Create storytelling for multiple audiences, including individual supporters, donors, volunteers, pastors and church leaders.
Partner cross-functionally with Development, Digital and Operations to connect program realities, organizational priorities and audience needs.
Develop stories and scripts that keep local churches and ministry partners at the center of the response, while giving supporters a clear understanding of how they can participate.
Helped establish a more cohesive approach to content in a newly created role, connecting individual stories to broader audience engagement and lifecycle strategy.
Growing the numbers mattered, but the bigger win was building somewhere for that growth to go: from 90 email subscribers to an audience with more ways to connect, participate and become part of the community.
